DC/DOX, June 11-14, 2026
DC/DOX is a major international documentary film festival held in Washington, D.C. The festival is co-founded and directed by Prof. Sky Sitney (Professor of the Practice in the Georgetown Film and Media Studies Program) and journalist and producer Jamie Shor.
The Georgetown Humanities Initiative was a co-sponsor of the DC/DOX 4th edition (June 11-14, 2026), which featured 113 films from 32 countries alongside the Reality Check Forum. The event focused on illuminating urgent issues, fostering meaningful exchange across disciplines, and celebrating the power of documentary cinema.
The festival presents a massive slate of world, North American, and U.S. premieres, ranging from feature-length documentaries to short films. DC/DOX includes a dedicated industry space for masterclasses, workshops, and panels focusing on the evolving landscape of filmmaking, including topics like ethics, funding, archives, and legal considerations. Situated perfectly in the nation’s capital, the festival caters to artists, journalists, and policymakers from around the world, creating an environment centered on activism, global challenges, and community building.
